Buzios is a small, beautiful and exclusive resort community catering to well-heeled Brazilians and visitors. This little fishing village morphed into a major tourist hot spot in the late 1960s. Most of the nightlife, shopping and restaurants are in a six-block area called Centro. While there are no gay-specific bars or restaurants, gay tourists will like what Buzios has to offer : shopping, nightlife, great food and gorgeous beaches. Gay tourists can be seen cruising the main streets, and many gay residents work in local shops, restaurants and hotels.
