We are very priviledged to live in a region as beautiful as the Morvan.  The richness of its fauna and flora, and of its forests and rivers encourage us to live in ways that help to preserve its delicate ecosystem.  Our gites respect the environment in many ways.  We use only biodegradable, organic household cleaning products which are also available in the gite. We encourage recycling and there are containers for compost and recycling located in the gite.

Wood is a source of renewable energy and is abundant in the Morvan Hills.  We have chosen a double combustion, clean burning Jotul wood burning stove to help reduce green house gasses.

We have a large organic garden and we sell our fresh, organic fruits and vegetables throughout the year.  We are lucky to have a local organic baker who makes fresh organic bread weekly.  You can order your bread for your arrival.

Honey bees are essential in preserving our fragile ecosystem.  In 2010 we decided to keep bees, and our limited honey harvest will be on sale in 2011.

The living room,

is 36m2 and has large glass doors opening to the terrasse. It is equipped with a stereo, tv with dvd and antenna and has a Jotul woodburning stove placed in the old granite fireplace. The living room has a "plafond à la francaise" (a french oak beam ceiling) and the original tiles.

 The kitchen,

is completely restored using the original terra-cotta tiles and keeping the french oak ceiling.  The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove and oven, microwave, washer and dishwasher.  The windows of the kitchen open up to the terrasse and glass doors open to the front terrasse.

 The Terrasse,

is 35m2 and opens up to the back garden and lawn.  There is a large table with six chairs and four lounge chairs with a table.  The beautiful view from the terrasse looks out over the rolling hills, fields and forets of the Morvan.

The Master bedroom,

is 36m2 and is furnished with a Queen size bed 160 x 200 with patchwork quilt, a grand armoire, two lounge chairs, an antique desk and a beautiful working fireplace.  The Master bedroom has its own bathroom with bathtub, shower, sink and seperate toilet.

 The Loft Room,

is 36m2 and is furnished with two twin beds with patchwork quilts, 80 x 200 that can be seperated or made into one large bed, one lounge chair, and a sofa.   Two additional beds can be added to the room and can sleep four. The room has wooden floors, original stone walls, exposed oak beams and has its own bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
