The Hotel Grand Monarque is in Azay-le-Rideau, 150m from its famous and charming castle. You’re in Touraine, in the heart of the Loire Valley.
This old post house, from the 18Th century, has become a charming boutique hotel, with exposed beams and “tuffeau” stone, and with a centennial trees’ back yard. You’ll be welcome in uniquely and stylishly decorated spacious rooms.
After a day of discovery and visits, you’ll be able to relax in the lounge bar and salon de thé. You’ll also enjoy resting, in the shade in the back yard. In winter, the fire in the fire place will be waiting for you. On the evenings the Restaurant Le Grand Monarque is proposing a traditional and discovery cuisine, and in the morning you’ll be waking up with a breakfast buffet.
In this king’s valley, you’ll dream about the famous castles nearby, Villandry and its breathtaking gardens, Ussé said to have inspired the sleeping Beauty fairy tale, Langeais, Chinon and its fortress where Jane of Arc met the future King – all less than 20 minutes away – and Chenonceau at 35 min.
