La Maison sur le Quai is an authentic fisherman's house, located on the seafront in Port-en-Bessin, Normandy. At the heart of the landing beaches, 10 km from Arromanches, Omaha Beach and Bayeux, a town rich in history, in a fishing port and marina.

At La Maison sur le Quai, guests can live with the rythm of the tides and the cry of seagulls. Through the windows or on the terrace and even your bed and bath, you can contemplate the comings and goings of fishing boats going out to sea with the high tide. At low tide, you can stroll on the sand in the outer harbor, just in front of the house.

An exceptional location with sea view for stays in self–catering holiday cottage. For one week or many, from Saturday 4pm to Saturday 10am for 1 to 4 people, all seasons.

The house (70 sqm) has been completely renovated in a spirit which combines charm of antiques, new equipment and contemporary inspiration. Typical fisherman's house in terms of size, the house consists of 3 levels, a small summer house, where the fish used to sold in return from fishing and an elevated terrace offering a very nice view. 2 bedrooms each with a bathroom (bath or shower)and toilet. Completly new equipment (Wifi, LCD TV with 300 channels (french, english, german...), DVD player, Ipod/Iphone sounddock, stainless steel kitchen, dishwasher, nespresso and coffee machines, washing machine, dryer machine, hood ...). Baby facilities on request (to be confirmed). No-smoking. No pets. Parking possible in front of the house and free car parks nearby

The fish market is close by, with the sale of fresh fish and shellfish. All other shops, seafood restaurants, gourmet and convenience stores, cafés, bank... are also close by. There is also a weekly market on Sunday, which is well known in the region.

Many sports available including the 36 hole Omaha Beach Golf course on the edge of the village, cultural visits and historic sites on the spot and surrounding areas (Tapestry & cathedral in Bayeux, abbeys, castles, d-day beaches,...) and the Normandy countryside.

The house has just opened in February 2009. Rates are per week for 1 to 4 people with water, electricity, heating, wifi, final house cleaning, bedlinen & towels of quality and dishcloths.
