Our gite l'Alchemille is stunning, impressive and big!!. Overlooking the valley of the river Dronne, the Italian style house is beautifully and tastefully restored with an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The living and the dining rooms both have wood burners and it is superbly furnished in a mixed blend of era, contemporary and modern furniture.

The kitchen is a delight with every modern appliances. It has a door that leads out to the large swimming pool with Roman steps and an outdoor alfresco dining area.

The bedrooms are an absolute delight with sleigh beds and every one having its own bathroom with shower. You sleep in luxury with a stunning view across the valley. Attractively arranged middle floor en suite bedrooms on the magnificent, ancient mansion l'Alchemille.

You will be surrounded by nature, tranquillity and traditional French culture.

The green valleys of Périgord Vert are very rural, with ample space and small communities, large areas of woodland and wild areas.

St Victor is 2 miles away from Montagrier. There is a Mountain Bike hire point and another in Ribérac.

Riberac, the capital of foi grass, which is renowned for its Friday market – the best in the area, Ribérac offers plenty of choices to get yourself busy; fairs; outside cinema and guided tours; music in the street; the festivals and art exhibitions.

Villars not far from the caves with some impressive stalactites and paintings more than 17,000 years old.

Nearby is the Chateau de Puyguilhem. A Renaissance masterpiece with exceptional beauty.

There is a lake beach in Lake Jemaye. Several types of water sports could be practised here.

There are also chances of trying some Rock climbing near the village of Lisle.

L'Alchemille is 4 miles away from Grand Brassac which is a beautiful village to walk around; it has a ancient church.

Tocane, in the heart of the Périgord Vert, is famous for the pétanque competition al fresco, fishing, canoeing. In July Tocane opens the fluvial beach.

Water sports, Fishing, tennis, Horse riding, Hiking and Golf are all activities which are available, in around Brantome. Canoeing is a great fun day out for everyone. Be prepared for getting wet though. Canoeing is an activity which all the family can enjoy as you go through Brantôme, Riberac, Tocane, Bourdelles or Lisle under the bridges and over the small waterfalls. It is very safe and can be as strenuous as you want to make it.
