We are located in Mesland, a small and charming village on the south shore of the Loire river, between the towns of Blois and Amboise. The village is one of the stops on the road of the vineyards of the Loire Valley, and is within short distance of the main "châteaux".

This former wine estate was built in the middle of the nineteenth century and comprises an 1846 mansion, a beautiful and peaceful park with century old trees, and of the former stable and wine making facility. The last harvest happened in the Clos in 1955. A small river, the Cissot crosses the Park.

The 14m swimming pool and its deckchairs, is an ideal haven to relax and refresh between visits of the "châteaux", wine -tastings, walking-tours and bike-tours.

The house comprises a main lounge, a library, a very large dining room, three suites and two large bedrooms. It was totally refurbished in 2008, but kept in its original nineteenth century style.

The Loire Valley is registred with UNESCO as « World Heritage » and offers to its visitors magnificent landscapes, from the still wild Loire river, large forests and Royal Castles.

Located on the « Wine Road » and surrounded by vineyards, Mesland, our beautiful little village, was founded as a Priory in the 12th century by monks of the Marmoutier Abbey - the Notre-Dame church is still standing as a witness. The village has given its name to the "Touraine-Mesland" category of the Loire valley wines, and you will be able to taste those at the Estate or directly at the producer.

The Clos Sainte-Marie is ideally located near the best known castles of the Loire Valley :
- Château de Chaumont sur Loire and its international festival of gardens (7 Kms)
- Château d'Amboise and "Clos Lucé", former home to Leonardo Da Vinci (19 Kms)
- Château de Blois (23 Kms)
- Château de Chenonceau (30 Kms)
- Château de Cheverny (35 Kms)
- Château de Chambord (44 Kms)
We highly recommend the Michelin green guide "Castles of the Loire" to visit the region.

Beyond the visits of Castles, many activities are available in the region :
- Winetastings - we will be happy to recommend producers in the region and we maintain a small collection of organic wines, available for sale to our guests;
- Flights onboard a montgolfier above the Loire river and the Castles ;
- Many walking and bike tours (we can organize your bike rental);
- Horse riding - Centre équestre du Val de Loire (16 Kms) http://www.cevl.fr

If you are a Golf player, there are many Greens in the region, among others:
