In the heart of the South Charente stands the guesthouse, a stately and authentic fortified manor dating to the 15th Century.  Once the home of an advisor to François I, France’s Renaissance king, today the Logis and its outbuildings   have been faithfully restored with native materials and the interior design has been interpreted with a contemporary twist.

Throughout the property, the materials used in the restoration play on themes of nature, native resources, and the farming culture of the region.  From the local pierre de Combe and heavily-grained lime-stained oak, to the burlap drapes and fine bed linens,  the overall effect is…     serenity.

Located 18 kilometers south of Angoulême and its TGV station, the guesthouse is 2 hours 10 minutes to Paris-Montparnasse by train.  Bordeaux and the Merignac International Airport are 1 ½ hours by car.

In the outbuildings overlooking the courtyard are three beautiful bedrooms.  They have central heating, private entrances, and have been stylishly decorated in a rustic contemporary manner.  Outfitted with the finest linens and details, each room is named after a former owner of the Logis.  Each features:

•  a state-of-the-art flat screen television, DVD/VHS player, and a CD/Cassette player; minibar, electric hot water boiler, hair dryer and safe.
• The Logis' swimming pool, unsupervised, is available to clients.
• The Logis' extensive paper-back book and video libraries are available to clients.
• Children older than 12 years are welcome.
• Two twin beds or one King sized bed, as requested. 

Rooms are strictly non-smoking.  Ours is a setting ideal for walking, horseback riding, bicycling, reading, relaxing, and rediscovering your relationship.
