This estate, which was previously one of the largest farming and wine-growing operations in the region, has been entirely restored by its owner, who took care to respect the great architectural and decorative traditions of the Provence region. The residence is located on grounds that spread over one hectare (2.5 acres) of land where the freshness of the French gardens (with their rose bushes, wisteria, honeysuckle and others) mixes with the warmth of the low, scrub vegetation known as “garrigue” in southern France. Located between the sea and the Cévennes mountains, the town of Uzès with its famous Roman aqueduct known as the Pont du Gard, hosts interesting events all year round including concerts, exhibitions, fairs, markets and more. And you are invited to come explore its history, its cuisine and its local produce. The greater region also awaits with unforgettable vacation memories – you’re just a stone's throw away from the Luberon region, the beaches of Languedoc and the wilds of the Camargue. But if you prefer golf, horseback riding, canoeing or kayaking, or a relaxing stroll, you can do all of that too. Every Saturday, on its famous square known as the “Place aux Herbes”, spilling out onto the main streets and the esplanade, the town of Uzès is host to a superb market, with a warm and lively atmosphere. And on Wednesdays, there’s the traditional “farmers’ market”. The same awaits you in the many nearby villages – smaller, perhaps, but just as full of varied and alluring products.
The house includes gorgeous living space on the ground floor, with a flower-filled summer room where you can relax. You will also find the kitchen’s simple, authentic farmhouse-style furniture to be simply charming. Upstairs, there are 4 tastefully decorated rooms, some in colonial style. Outside, you can have breakfast in the summer dining room in the shade of the arbor, take a very pleasant walk around the magnificent grounds of the estate, relax by the edge of the round pool on the deckchairs or in the shade of the 100-year-old trees, or simply let yourself be swept away in the intoxicating scents of the gardens.
